My Dogs

I have two dogs, since I wrote about fish I thought that I should write about my dogs, Man's best friend.

Doodle the Poodle:

Male

White Small Standard

Birthday: 11/5/99,

registered name : Roly Poly Yankee Doodle.

Favorite activity: sleep.

Not a very good picture, but very current.

Peaches the Dachshund:

Female

Red Miniature Dachshund

Birthday 9/5/05

Registered name: My South Carolina Peach

Favorite activity: Snuggling
Doodle is really Becky's dog and Peaches is Linda's. When Becky got married we kept Doodle here, her marriage was going to be an adventure that did not need a dog. Both of Doodles parents weighed in at 7 pounds, Doodle weighs 28, he is what you call a throw back gene. He is not particularly fond of the grandchildren, he tolorates them. Peaches is also a little on the chunky side, but not as bad as Doodle. She loves the grandchildren and is very good with them. She loves you to throw her stuffed toy for her, she will do that as long as you are willing to throw it.
I have wanted a large dog for years, I do not think that I will ever get one, I am pretty sure that I will be getting another dog soon, I just have to decide on what breed.
Well that's my Dogs.

How we spent Sunday and Monday

We have been looking for a new larger fish tank. Pat found a 55 gallon tank on Craigslist. It was in Asheville, NC. After lunch on Sunday Pat, Leilani and I got in the Suburban and drove to Asheville. We picked up the aquarium and all of the supplies and 4 fish. and brought them home. Now we have to make plans for setting up the aquarium.

First of all I have a large fantail goldfish, he is probably at least 8 inches in length including his tail. He is in a 10 gallon tank with a regular goldfish that we adopted from Clara. "Goldy" really needs more room to swim around. Our second tank is a 20 gallon tank with a variety of fish in it. Pat is like a little boy, everytime he comes home from Walmart he brings home fish. The Plan was to take the goldfish from the 10 gallon tank and put him in the 20 gallon tank, but we needed to move it first.

On Monday night we emptied both the ten and twenty gallon tanks. We were going to put the twenty gallon tank in the kitchen where the ten gallon tank had been. We were going to put the new 55 gallon tank on the hearth where the twenty gallon tank had been. But, when we put the new tank on the hearth Pat did not like it there, so he ended up going to Walmart and buying a stand for the new tank. So the twenty gallon tank that we had moved ended up going back on the hearth, and now I have an empty counter top in the Kitchen YEAH !!!!!!

The stand is nice, and the tank looks good on it, but now there is just too much stuff in the corner of the family room. I don't think the tank will stay where it is.

"Goldie"New Silver Dollar Fish

the biggest one is probably 5 inches around, but they are flat, only 1/2 inch or so wide.
I have a very large plecostamus I am going to try to get a picture of him.
Come on over and see our Aquariums !!

How I spent Saturday

I decided to invite three of the grandchildren over to play with each other. Quite often Leilani will spend the weekend with us. She loves her cousins to come and play with her. I thought it would be a good idea to try to get them all here at the same time. Lindy is the oldest, 3 1/2 then Leilani almost 3 ( March 11), then Henry 2 1/2. They love to play outside, Papa took them for a ride in the wagon, up and down the street. They also rode on the swing in our backyard. We made sticker books with valentine and wiggle stickers. We ate the #1 food for kids, chicken nuggets, tator tots and corn on the cob. We baked cookies, and then we got cranky !!!!! Naptime. All in all they all had fun. The sad thing to Pat and I is that they are too young to remember it when they get older.

New Computer

I just ordered a new laptop computer !!! Sam's club offered this today for $245.00. It is small, only 9 inches. Quite often I wish that I had a laptop computer to use when I am away from my house. I am excited to try this one out. It will take 4 - 6 weeks for delivery. So it will be a while before I can report to you how I like it.

On another topic, Pat suprised me and said he would open the Thanks a lot cookies first. But he says that he loves the caramel delights.

Cookie delivery

Here are a few of the cookies that Cherokee County Girl Scouts recieved yesterday. I took these pictures with my phone. I brought my camera, but it does help if you remember to put the memory card in the camera when you leave the house.

Cookie Sales in South Carolina are much better than I ever remember in New York. All the troop leaders and parents are very excited about selling. We recieved 674 cases of cookies, there are 12 boxes in each case. total of 8,088 cookies. That is only the initial order. Each troop can go back and sign out more cookies from the Girl Scout office and sell them at cookie booths in popular shopping areas.
My favorite cookies is the Lemonades, They are all good and I wouldn't turn any away. The most popular cookie that was ordered is the caramel delights or samoas, (depends what baker your council uses) the next in top orders was the peanut butter patty.
I will get my cookies delivered to me tomorrow. I ordered from my granddaughter Clara.
I will have a hard time opening only a few of the flavors, I will want one of each flavor. First box to open will be the lemonades, I guess I will let Pat pick a box to open. I bet it will be the peanut butter sandwiches.
I also ordered some boxes to be sent to soldiers. I think that is a great idea, what a good way to bring Home to our soldiers.
I will post some better pictures tomorrow.

Girl Scout Cookies

Tonight I went to my second meeting for Service Unit 628. I am the service unit cookie manager. Tonight I collected all permission slips from the various troops in Gaffney. Did you know that it is Girl Scout Cookie Time? Well if you have not been asked to buy cookies from a cute little Daisy, Brownie, Junior or Cadette Girl Scout you still have time to buy some cookies.

They have a great program this year, you can buy cookies to send to soldiers. A great way to let our men and women in uniform know that we are thinking of them. So those of you on a diet, buy a box for a soldier.

What is your favorite GS Cookie? I like them all, but my first choice is the lemonades, second is the caramel delights or in some councils they are called samoas.

I hope you all get to eat some cookies this year.
