Yummy Dessert

Thursday night Pat and I made Apricot Tarts. Last week we saw an episode of Road
Tasted with the Neelys on the food network. They visited a place that made Apricot Tarts, they looked delicous. We could not find a recipe like the one on TV, so we improvised. We used a box of Pepperidge farm puff pastry. As you can see we tried several shapes and sizes. The ingredients were: Puff Pastry, Fresh apricots, small amount of sugar, cinnamon, egg for sealing the crusts, and Apricot jam as a glaze after bakeing. I like to experiment, this was too easy not to try.

Our Baby Pineapple

Four years ago I made a fruit salad for a friend's wedding reception. I used a watermelon as the bowl. I cut up two pineapples along with other fruit to fill the bowl. Pat took the top of the pineapple and planted it, and it grew. We have it in the lobby of Gafney Embroidery. We have been hoping for a pineapple to grow out of it. We researched how you get a pineapple to grow and followed the directions.

Last week I noticed a little pineapple growing out of the top. We took a picture of it today and used a ruler to show how small it is. We are soo excited, you would think it was a baby or something. We plan to take a picture every week to show the progress of the fruit. The plant started a second plant, we are hoping that it will also get a fruit on it, maybe next year.

Happy Anniversary Katie and Andrew !

Today is Katie and Andrew's Fifth anniversary! They are enjoying a vacation in Vero Beach, Florida. Unfortunately the weather has not been the greatest ! We love you and will see you on Monday !

Going to the beach !

We are on our way to the beach today. Edisto Beach, SC one of our favorite places to go. Pat and Iwill be joined by our youngest daughter Becky and her family. We are looking forward to spending time with them. The boys plan to fish and Becky, Leilani and I will just hang out. hopefully I will have some pictures in a day or two.

Happy Birthday Zoe !!!

Today is our youngest grandaughter, Zoe's Birthday, she is one years old today !!

This is her just a few weeks old, She was beautiful then and she is beautiful today!

We will be celebrating her birthday on Sunday with a princess ballerina party.

My trip to NY

Well I was in NY 4/24-27 I have not posted anything about it. When I arrived at the airport I was looking for my sister or Dad at the Baggage area, the first person that I saw was my brother ! I did not expect to see him there. They suprised me with him comeing along to the airport. My dad did not know that he or my sister were going to be there, so he was very suprised. I really do not know when the last time we were all together, I think it was 1995. We had a short but good visit.

This is not a great picture, but it was the best of this pose. We went for lunch and this was taken in the parking lot of the restaurant.

While I visited my dad he was in a play at his church. It was called the SS Gigantic, It was a comedy, with a salvation message. My dad did a great job, his character was the financier that had paid for the new cruise liner to be built.

I was so mad at myself, because I forgot to bring my camera to the play. This is the only picture that I got, Dad is in costume. I think he looks like my grandfather in this picture. All in all I had a nice visit, and I look forward to when I can go back I wish I could get my dad down to SC.

Women of Joy

What a great weekend ! The speakers and musicians were wonderful ! The facilities were nice, traffic was a little bit of a problem but we survived! We are looking forward to next year already!
I felt blessed to be able to spend time with all four of my daughters ! Praise God that we all could get together !
